SEAHAWKS ARE BRINGING VETERAN WIDE RECEIVER IN FOR A TRYOUT

The Seattle Seahawks will have eyes on a former star wide receiver this week.

Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Robbie Chosen (formerly known as Robby Anderson) will participate in Seattle's minicamp on a tryout basis.

Chosen recorded 3,059 receiving yards in his first four seasons with the New York Jets before joining the Carolina Panthers in 2020. He enjoyed a career year for his new squad, collecting a career-high 95 catches and 1,096 yards.

However, his role fizzled the following year. Chosen amassed 519 yards and five touchdowns when reunited with former Jets quarterback Sam Darnold, and his career has since taken a turn for the worse.

Early in the 2022 season, Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks sent Chosen (then going by Robbie Anderson) to the locker room following a sideline spat with receivers coach Joe Dailey.

"I was honestly confused and upset by it, as I should be," Chosen said after the game. "I don't see nobody that's a true competitor and knows the value they bring, that's a true competitor and has a true passion for the game that's OK with being told not to do something or being taken out of something when they didn't do anything wrong."

The next day, Carolina traded him to the Arizona Cardinals. He tallied just seven catches for 76 yards in 10 games.

Chosen played a minimal role on the Miami Dolphins last season, securing four of six targets for 126 yards and a touchdown in nine games. He was inactive for their first-round playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba return to headline Seattle's receiving room in 2024. Jake Bobo is the only other returning wideout with any catches last season.
