TWO ALL-IRELAND LIMERICK STARS TIE THE KNOT IN STUNNING CEREMONY

With it not even a year since hanging up his boots, former Limerick hurler, Richie English, wasted no time with his partner Kathleen Fitzgibbon in saying 'I Do.'

Both sporting heroes in their own right, Richie has five All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship medals under his belt. His wife, Kathleen, is a member of the junior Limerick football panel and was a part of the All-Ireland winning team back in 2018.

With both parties heavily involved in the GAA and LGFA, you can bet there were a few familiar faces at the wedding.

The happy couple took their vows in the Church of the Sacred Heart, in Oola, Kathleen's home town, but Richie was able to bring a little touch of his own parish, with his own parish priest from Doon, Fr Jimmy Donnelly, conducting the ceremony.

The bride went for a classic strapless gown with a fitted bodice and a sweetheart neck. With a soft curl, her hair sat perfectly, finishing her look.

Richied looked just as smart, opting for the classic black and white tux- something that every groom looks good in.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds, along with their guests, headed to the reception at Dromoland Castle Hotel and Country Club.

There was fun, dancing and of course the obligatory speeches where Richie thanked his new wife for the support she had given him over the years while playing for Limerick.

While Kathleen was at the top of the list, Richie didn't forget to thank his family and friends as well, with some very familiar faces in the crowd.

Kathleen's brother Eoin Fitzgibbon plays on the Doon senior hurling team, while Richie's first cousin is also a well-known Cork hurler, Darragh Fitzgibbon.

Today FM's Louise Cantillon was also in attendance. Her husband, former Limerick captain Declan Hannon, would have trained and played side by side with the groom.

And with Limerick off to a good start this year, we just know the couple are hoping that they will be celebrating in a few months, with the team and the Liam McCarthy Cup!
