Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke to Canal + after the 0-3 win over Brest (video highlights Brest/PSG) on Tuesday at the Stade du Roudourou in the Champions League 2024-2025 play-offs. He was full of praise for his squad and the team’s collective spirit, and had no intention of burying Brest before the return leg.
How did you manage to convert Dembélé’s decisive goal ?
I didn’t convert anything. It’s Ousmane who’s confident. It’s thanks to his partners too. He scores a lot of goals because his team-mates give him decisive steps. Ousmane is often well placed. At the moment, he’s very prolific, which we’re delighted about. But I think we need to highlight the safety passes. I think it’s very important that we keep this mentality. As a coach, I’m very happy to have a team with this dynamic.
How are you going to approach this second leg ? Are you going to manage ?
In the last five meetings with Brest, we’ve led twice by two goals and they’ve come back to score each time. This play-off isn’t over yet. They’re a team who are somehow capable of finding Ajorque and causing us problems. It’s obvious that Brest won’t give up. Tonight was a good result, but our aim is to win the Champions League and we’re going to do everything we can to do that.
